Mata Vaishno Devi is a popular Hindu deity and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. The temple is located at an altitude of about 3,300 metres (10,800 ft) in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The yatra or pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi is considered incomplete without a visit to Shivkhori.The temple was originally built by King Prithvi Raj Chauhan in the 12th century, but it was rebuilt several times since then. It consists of two sections: a lower section that contains the sanctum and an upper section where there are images of Shiva, Parvati and their sons Ganesha and Kartikeya.

DAY 1Arrivel Jammu

Location

Pick up from Jammu Airport/Railway Station and transfer to Katra. Check into the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Katra.

DAY 2VAISHNO DEVI DARSHAN

Location

After Breakfast proceed to Mata Rani darshan by foot or Ponies (to be arranged directly) OR by Chopper (if you have booked tickets). After Darshan, leave by Chopper / Ponies for Katra back.return to the Hotel, overnight stay.

DAY 3KATRA – SHIVKHORI – KATRA

Location

After early breakfast visit Shivkhori temple which is around 70 kms and takes 3 hrs each way to reach. Shivkhori means the cave of Lord Shiva. Aghar Jitto (6 kms from Katra) which is the shrine of revolutionary Baba Jitto. Next visit the shrine of Nau. After darshan return back to the starting point and transferred back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
