Haridwar (Railway Station / Hotel)

Kedarnath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Surrounded by majestic snow-covered peaks and set in a vast open valley, the temple offers a truly divine and breathtaking experience.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and holds immense spiritual significance among devotees. It is believed that the temple was revived by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, near the site of an ancient temple associated with the Pandavas.
According to Hindu mythology, after the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva. To avoid them, Lord Shiva took the form of a bull and tried to disappear into the ground. However, Bhima recognized him, and during the process, the hump of the bull remained visible, which is worshipped today as the sacred Shiva Linga in Kedarnath.
The journey to Kedarnath begins from Haridwar, followed by a trek of approximately 16–18 km from Gaurikund. Pilgrims can also choose options like pony, palki, or helicopter for convenience.
Apart from its spiritual importance, Kedarnath is also known for its serene environment and natural beauty. The temple premises feature a large statue of Nandi (the sacred bull of Lord Shiva) guarding the entrance, and the interiors showcase intricate depictions of mythological stories and deities.
Due to its high altitude, Kedarnath experiences cold weather throughout the year. Even in summer, temperatures remain pleasant, while winters are extremely cold with heavy snowfall, making the temple inaccessible during that time.
This yatra offers a perfect blend of devotion, adventure, and the unmatched beauty of the Himalayas, making it a truly unforgettable spiritual journey.
